Baked mussels au gratin

Ingredients

  • 1 kg mussels
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 3 spoons of chooped parsley
  • 100 gr stale bread crumb
  • 50 gr grated pecorino
  • pepper q.s.
  • 4 spoons of Masserie di Sant’Eramo extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

Baked mussels au gratin are a very tasty fish appetizer typical of southern Italy. In Apulia, in particular, we boast mussels with a unique flavour. To prepare the mussels au gratin, start by carefully cleaning and washing the mussels.
In a bowl, add the minced bread crumb, pecorino cheese, chopped garlic cloves and parsley, the oil and mix everything together. Fill each mussel with a little of the mixture. Then place the mussels on a baking tray covered with parchment paper and sprinkle them with olive oil and pepper. Bake at 200°C until the mussels brown (about 15 minutes).
