The history

The worldwide appreciation towards the Mediterranean diet stems from the study of the American scientist Ancel Keys who lived for 40 years in the province of Salerno. Ancel and his wife Margaret dedicated their whole life studying the benefits of our diet and in 1975 they published the book: “Eat well and stay well the Mediterranean way”. The success was enormous and Ancel lived up to 100 years, thus becoming a living example of the effectiveness of his studies.
